Making Progress ...

We have been working constantly at the new house. Joe has been painting alot. And my main project has been removing wall paper in the dining room. Wallpaper that covers about every inch of the entire room. Its been a project.. I'll be so glad to get it done.

The Master Bedroom is done. In a nice light blue.

Cooper's bathroom. His shower curtain will get hung.. once I find the box with the shower curtain hooks and liner.

His new alphabet shower curtain.

Cooper's bedroom. Painted light yellow and his NEW ceiling fan. Installed by our friend Tom.

New chairs for our kitchen table. We are doing a little DIY project for the kitchen table. More to come. I've always been a big fan of Midcentury Modern stuff. Especially the various famous styles of molded chairs. So we got the 'knock off' ones. No one will know. Plus we have a toddler.. and white chairs was already a gutsy move.. HA! Tune in later to see if we think that was a wise decision.

Regardless I love them!!!! Probably my new favorite piece.

Lots more to come!

Home Sweet Home

Well after almost two years of  looking .. and trying to sell our house. And the last 7 months of living with family... we finally found our next HOME. We just closed last Friday and couldn't be more excited. Cooper is excited too, of course!

Its a 1.5 story.

GREAT ROOM
As you walk in you see this great room, which we really loved.. and kinda 'hooked' us from the beginning.

You can see up to the second floor and the open loft area.

DINING ROOM
This wall paper is terrible.. so you can say 'good bye' to it. Which will be a lot of fun.. I'm sure. That will be Deb's project.

The house is kinda a big circle. This is from standing in the door to the kitchen.

KITCHEN
Turn around the other way and this is what you see.

A lot more kitchen cabinets than we are use too. Which Deb is excited about.

We really loved the openness of the floor plan, the high ceiling. And all of the natural light.

Of course we have lots of plans for the light fixtures, etc. To make it more 'our style'.

New deck off of the kitchen area.

View from the great room into the kitchen.

Turn around and you see this.. back in the great room.

And back to seeing the front door and entrance.

MASTER BEDROOM
(main floor off of kitchen)

MASTER BATHROOM

Master bath. Wow, Joe and I can both fit in the bathroom at the same time. We are pretty excited.

UPSTAIRS BEDROOM 1
 (Bedroom 2 looks similar)

LAUNDRY ROOM
(off of kitchen and leads to garage)

BACKYARD
Its needs Joe's touch, but we are already 'dreaming up' ideas for it. And are looking forward to many barbecues in the future.

That's it... lots of work to do. Of course! But we are soo excited for this new chapter.. and to make this house our NEW HOME!!!

Memorial Day -Trip to Kansas

We took a trip to Kansas for Memorial Day to visit my parents. We had a great time! It was a short trip, but we still did some fun stuff and Cooper had a lot of fun seeing Grandma & Grandpa. The only bummer was on our very first day... shortly after Cooper woke up.. he managed to fall and bump his head on something. I didn't even think he hit it that hard but it immediately popped out with a big old bump. Great way to start the trip! So all of the pictures you notice a funny looking bump on his forehead.. that's why.

Grandpa and Grandma suprised Cooper with a little stash of toys to play with. One of which was a set of stacking blocks that I use to love when I was a kid. Cooper thought it was Christmas morning or something.. HA!

 Playing with Grandpa.

 Grandma & Grandpa Friend.

 Wrestling with Grandpa.

 Playing with Grandma.

 Eating out.

On Memorial Day, we went to my oldest brother's house in Kansas City to celebrate both of my nephews birthdays. Cooper loved playing with them and running around the backyard.

Cooper also thought the party was for him. So he helped his cousins open their birthday gifts.

When we sang 'Happy Birthday' to Ryan.. Cooper thought everyone was singing to him.

Cooper was amazed to see Uncle Donald up in that treehouse. We couldn't quite talk Cooper into going up there. Pretty cool tree house! Maybe next time.
