I knew that we would be staying downtown for the night. But other than that I didn't really know what any of the plans were. I'm kinda embarassed to say but we haven't ever spend a night away from the kids. Not really intentially, just the years have really flown by and it just never really happened. So we were pretty excited for a little get-away!
We started the day off by heading to Webster Groves. Joe wanted to take me to breakfast at this cute, little hole-in-the-wall breakfast place. Its called Boardwalk Cafe. The breakfast was down-home and just my style. Biscuits and gravy, hash browns, eggs and bacon.. yes, please!
Then off to the next surprise. A trip to Vitality Spa in Webster. Its started to begin a yearly tradition for us on our anniversary to get a couples massage. But this year we did something a little different. Joe scheduled us to each have a 30 minute massage and a facial. I've never had a facial ever. And both of them were awesome! Well little did I know that was just the tip of the iceberg for our fun and relaxing day.
Next we headed to Forest Park. It couldn't have been a more beautiful day with just the perfect temperature. Not too hot, a nice breeze.. just perfect! We went to the Boathouse and took a ride on the paddle boats. Then headed back for lunch at the Boathouse Resturant.
(Paddle boat selfie.)
Lunch was delicious. We didn't get any pictures there. Afterward we headed downtown to our hotel- The Four Seasons. So next on the agenda was some more pampering at another spa. The Four Seasons spa was amazing! It was super modern and we had an amazing time. I forgot to get any pictures there. But I stole a few from the internet.
This is what one of the 'relaxation areas' looked like. It doesn't really even do it justice. The room was enclosed by floor to ceiling windows over looking the river. Trickling water in the background, fluffy robes... and everything you need to relax and de-stress. Joe had scheduled us for a 80 minute Couples Massage, 10 minute Foot massage, followed by champagne and private room with steam room, etc. Seriously it was like heaven.

After our massage we were free to hang out and use anything in the spa facility. We decided to take a swim in the roof top pool and take a dip in the hot tub. Then it was time to check into our room, relax a little, and get ready for our evening on the town.
The Four Seasons hotel was awesome. It was really funky and modern, with huge pieces of contemporary art everywhere. Our room and view didn't disappoint. Joe got us a room on the top floor with a great view of the Arch.
Here is our room. Checkout that view. It overlooked the hotels pool.
The hotel's roof top pool, standing fountain, cabanas, bar and sitting area were gorgeous!
This was a nice little surprise when we arrived in our room. It was perfect, because Joe and I love chocolate covered strawberries and over the years we many times make them apart of special plans. I had wanted to get some, but since I didn't know our plans I wasn't sure if I would have anywhere to store them. But Joe already had it taken care of. A plate full of gourmet strawberries with a special note and a bottle of champagne.
The room was very modern and comfy. The bathroom was huge and even had a tv hidden inside the mirror.
Heading to dinner.
The carriage took us to Kemoll's which was a few blocks away. And located on the 40th floor. The view of the city was beautiful. We could even see our hotel from the table we were sitting at.
There it is -- The Four Seasons.
Heading back to the hotel after dinner.

It was a beautiful night to sit outside at the roof top patio section. With the fire pit going.
Heading to the casino for some black jack and slots.
