Minnie Mouse Party - Continued...

Of course Joe managed to go leave and pick-up the food right when I wanted to take some pictures. So just Mommy and Gwen.

Gwen was pretty into the cake.

She loved all of the attention of being sang to.

Mmmm.. not bad, this cake stuff. She didn't mess around. A little different than her big brother and his 1st bday cake.

The minnie car was the 'Grand Finale' from Mommy and Daddy. She seemed to like her 'new ride'. It was a fun party. Thanks to all of our great family and friends that could attend, who helped make it a special 1st bday!

Gwen 12 Month Stats

•Gwen had her 12 month checkup. She weighs 26 lbs. 2 ounces. 31 inches long.

•She is very advertous still. She is always on the move. Crawling from one end of the house to the next. And determined to climb on the stairs.

•Takes most solid foods really well. Having a hard time with meat. Must not like the texture. She does like deli ham.

•She is working on getting all four molars. The bottom two are close to being in. The top two are barely through the skin.

I started this post a long time ago and never could seem to get it finished and posted. So here are some pics I took of Gwen for her 1st Bday, in her party outfit.

See the other posts about her Minnie Mouse 1st Bday. We think she was quite the party Diva.

The Big ONE- Minnie Mouse Party!

PARTY TIME!

The 'smash' cake. I made it. I was pleased that it came out pretty good. Girly and fun, ready for smashing.  I made the little 'ONE' pendant banner. I purchased the little girl figurine off of Etsy.

I ordered the cake from a local place. Catherine's Cakery. I gave her a sketch of my idea and she matched it perfectly!

I made a few decorations. Two minnie head centerpieces. Pretty easy and inexpensive too!

I made some little party favor bags for the kids that came. My sister-in-law made some super cute minnie rice krispie heads (dipped in chocolate). Just like the ones from Disney World.

I made a Shutterfly book of Gwen's 1st year. Highlights of each month and little fun tidbits about her. Then I had a spot in the back for family and friends to write a quick note to her.

I made the pink tutu for the highchair. It was really easy. Took a little time, but a lot easier than I thought it would be.

A banner of Gwen pics, one for each month.

Ok that is just some of the decorations. More pictures of the actual party TO COME ...

Gwen is one!

Holy cow. Seriously I can't believe that its been ONE year! We had a fun little mini party on Gwen's actual birthday. Just us and the grandparents. It was so great having my parents in town to help celebrate. Gwen had her first taste of cake. A little preview to get her ready for her big shin-dig. Then we opened some gifts. Cooper of course loved helping with that.

Big Brother - Helping Out

I'm not going to lie. At times Cooper has had a hard time adjusting to Gwen. But as time goes by it gets better and better. He still has moments of being kinda ornery. Ok really ornery.. (not sure if I spelled that right). But anyway then there will be really sweet moments. Like this when he insisted on helping feed Gwen. And she really loved it. It was a good opportunity to feed her something new. I think she would eat anything that Cooper gave her, she just thought it was the best having him give her the food.

Gwen 11 Months

* Crawling like a pro. She is super fast. And into everything. She will play with toys for a few minutes, then she is off to the next adventure.

*She starting say "Hi".

*She is so incredibly social. We go out to eat and she can't wait to start smiling at people. She looks around and even scopes people out. She will stare at people until she get their attention and they start paying attention to her.

*She loves to eat. She has taking everything I have give her. Except she wasn't crazy about avocado. She is doing great with table foods. Everything time I introduce something new, she eats it easily. So far she has had:  Shredded cheese, cottage cheese, baby yogurt, cooked carrots, peas, broccoli, pieces of noodle, mashed potatoes, sweet potato, banana, pear (ripe), peach, tortilla, and I'm sure I have missed some.

*She was a great traveler on the way to Oklahoma. He longest road trip yet. 9 or 10 hours.

*She likes to pull up on her knees by our living room windows. She see her reflection and gets excited. Or she will talk.

*She starting fulling pulling (or pushing up). On the window sill.

*She loves and wants everything of Cooper's. Even though she really can't have most of it.

*She loves his giant box of legos. She can't quite do it, but she knows they go together somehow.

*She wants to play Ninja Turtles with us. She will even pick up a sword and hold it up.

*She loves going for walks, she is totally mellow and zoned out. Or going to the park and watching Cooper play on the jungle gyms.

*She is not the best at church or quiet places. Because she likes to bang on the pews or she squeals or talks loudly. But she is getting better. She loves smiling at everyone.

*We retired the baby car seat and moved on to the convertible car seat.
