Things That Go

We went to a fun little event last Saturday. It was called "Things That Go" and it was FREE! Which you can't beat that. Just something put on my Parents as Teachers. The weather was beautiful and it made for a fun little Saturday morning. Basically there are various vehicles for kids to see: fire trucks, police car, school bus, army jeep.. etc. The kids can sit in the driver seat and climb into them, etc. Cooper loved it!

Paradise - The Next Generation

Well as most of you may know at our previous house, Joe named our backyard "Paradise". I think it kinda became a little bit of a 'inside joke'. But it was really kinda a paradise so to speak. Then our front yard redo was named P2. Paradise Part II.

In our first years of marriage I really got to see an amazing talent that Joe has.. and that is his 'green thumb'. Maybe even more amazing to someone like me, where I can't literally be outside for two seconds with out some kind of bug bite or allergic reaction. Ha.. slight over-reaction.. well not really. I'm way better than I was as a kid. But still I'm pretty allergic to most of nature. So when it comes to yard work, and gardening... Joe got the 'short end of the stick'.. in that category... of my wife contributions. I'm pretty worthless outside.. period! But anyway by the time with left our last house.. our cute little bungalow.. it had the cutest backyard.. and quite the curb appeal. And Joe really put in a lot of hours for that to happen. So we get here to our next house.. and poor Joe.. lets just say he has his work cut out for him. The previous owner didn't do much to the yard. And probably didn't do anything with it at the end before we bought it. The yard was basically dead.. and taken over by weeds. The bushes and trees are all overgrown. Its bascially a "hot mess". But if anyway can make it look awesome, its Joe. That is for sure!

Anyway.. just like previous yard projects once Joe starts.. well he doesn't stop. Literally! Doesn't stop for lunch.. hardly stops for water. He basically kicks it into AUTO.. and goes... goes and goes. Its kinda crazy really. I usually yell at him. But I've learned that is just the way he operates.  He is one heck of a hard worker.. not just in the yard but in general.

So today Joe thatched our entire yard, seeded and put hay on top. Thankfully God gave us some pretty great neighbors. And one in particular that has been a great help to us so far. Just letting us borrow various things, giving us suggestions, and advice. And today helping Joe.. almost the entire day. Which was a huge blessing in disguise. Because I can't help. And Joe doesn't really like to ask for help. Plus the cloudy, coolish weather was pretty perfect too.

Checkout some pictures from today.. I call this BEFORE. Next Spring we will show you the AFTER . I anticipate (like in the past). It will be hard to believe the difference.

View from the garage. This pictures aren't great. But I was attempting to not get muddy.
