4 Months

 

The time is really flying. I seriously can't believe that Gwen is 4 Months.... 4 months and 3 weeks while I'm typing this....

Just a little recap of Gwen at four months.

4 MONTH CHECKUP STATS:     16 pounds, 7 ounces and 26.5 inches tall 

(fyi Cooper was 14 pounds and 23 inches at this age)

*4 month week 2 - all of a sudden reached for her feet.

*Stopped swaddling her to bed at night.

*Dec. 22 had rice cereal for the first time. She liked it. And got the hang of it pretty quickly.

*Is really getting the hang of tummy time. And holds her head up high. 

*Loves to watch Cooper and giggles at us. 

*Likes reading books.

*Must be teething, because she is drooling like crazy and knawing on everything.

*Rolled over for the first time. From back to front. (Jan 12.) She is always kinda rolling and bending her head backwards. This was the first time she made it all of the way over. It was so cute! Not to mention she was naked, because I was in the middle of changing her after a massive 'blow out'.

*Giggles, laughs and is so happy.

*Started being interested in the tv.

 
 

Cookies for Santa

The night before Christmas Eve we made cookies and decorated them. Cooper had a great time with the icing and adding sprinkles. I think Santa will be pleased. 

Jake The Elf

 

So if you haven't heard about what elfs do when your asleep, I'll tell you. Its kinda like the movie Toy Story, they come to life when your not around. So each morning Jake would be in a different room, doing something different, after he had returned from the North Pole. I didn't get pictures of all of the spots. But here are just a few things that Jake did while he visited our house. 

 

 

 

 

Saint Nick - And a special surprise!

So Cooper wrote his letter to Santa and left it out the night before St. Nick came (Dec 6th). Well St. Nick left a few little surprises for Cooper and Gwen, but he also left an elf from the North Pole. (An Elf on the Shelf). I had been debating about jumping on that band wagon for a while. But I think its really cute. So we decided to start it this year.

Forever Joe has been wanting to get Cooper a Santa's Workshop to play with during Christmas time. He had something like that growing up. So we found a little one that we really liked. 

 Cooper is really into the movie Frosty this year. So he was super excited about his new musical Frosty book.

Hmmmm.. thinking about what he should name his new elf. And the name he decided on..... JAKE. Must be inspired from the Disney show "Jake and the Neverland Pirates."

New Christmas Tree

 I've been talking about getting a white Christmas tree and making it modern for years. Well once we were in our new house last year, we decided our 6ft regular tree seemed kinda dinky in our living room with vaulted ceilings. So we have been on the lookout for a tree that was a little taller. All of a sudden we ran across this one at Hobby Lobby. 50% OFF. To say the least I was very excited!! MOD tree here we come. These pictures are not the best, but you get the idea. And this was before we decided how to decorate it.

Letter to Santa

 

Daddy helped Cooper write a letter to Santa. We told Cooper that St. Nick was good friends with Santa. So the night before St. Nick came, Cooper wrote a letter to leave out in hope that St. Nick would take it to Santa. 

 

 

Joe had Cooper right North Pole on the back. But for some reason Cooper wanted to add the number 1.

Donuts with Dasher

We went to a fun event at our church called Donuts with Dasher. We took Grandma with us too. They had some fun crafts and games for the kids, donuts of course. And you got to see Santa. Cooper had a blast. A few of his little school mates were there. Enjoy the pics! 

 

 

 

 

 

 There were fun games like pin the star on the Christmas tree. The blind fold lasted about 2 seconds.

Preschool Christmas Program

 

This year with Cooper being in preschool at St. Francis of Assisi (our church), we got to see him in his first Christmas program. It was pretty cute. He had been randomly singing parts of songs for a few weeks.

Santa made a surprise visit after the show. Even though he had already seen Santa once at the Donuts for Dasher event, he was still pretty excited and a little 'star-struck' again when we were up there. He only told Santa one thing that he wanted. A 'thomas'. Thomas the train that is.
