Potty Time

So when summer started we starting trying potty training with Gwen. But she didn't really show a lot of interest, so we decided to just not push it and see what she did as summer went on. Well we had signed Gwen up for preschool with the goal in mind that she would be potty training by the start of school. July came along and still - no success. But as I learned with Cooper and talking with other people along the way –– I truly believe that they have to be 'ready' to go potty. Its just something that clicks, and there is no point in pushing it.

Well low and behold maybe about a month ago, Gwen all of a sudden 'got it'. And she got it pretty fast! I made her a chart where she gets a sticker everytime she goes, and after so many stickers there are some fun incentives - such as going out for icecream or a shake, picking out a new 'friend', going swimming, riding a train (at the zoo). We are so proud of her fast success. And as a result this 'BIG GIRL' is heading off to preschool in a few days.

She is so pleased with all of the stickers on her Potty Chart. By the way, she gets two skittles everything she goes and one sticker. Usually her success is followed by a 'Ya-hoo' from her, she skips out of the bathroom to pick out her skittles and sticker. Then as she describes it she is "working on her project".. ha! She is a kick.

As a result of filling up her entire first potty chart. She got to go to the store and pick out a 'new friend'. She went with a My Little Pony.
