Chuck E Cheese

This past weekend Cooper had his 1st Outing to Chuck E. Cheese's. His Grandma Boeckman had been dying to take him there for months. He loved it and we all had a great time. Surprisingly Cooper even loved it when Chuck E. came out. We thought he might be scared. He rode some rides and played a few games. Even won some tickets. Enjoy the pics. And there is a short video of him driving a car.

Cooper has no idea what he is 'in' for.

He is starting to get excited.

Watching the show.. getting ready to eat dinner.

Yea.. that Chuck E guy is here.

He loved Chuck E.

Joe and Cooper on the big screen.

Serious business.

He looked scared, but he really liked the carousel. He was just very focused.

"Now don't worry Chuck E, I'm a good driver." - Cooper

Ha ha.. just kidding.

"I love this place." - Cooper

Serious playing his first game.

"Yeah, what is this?" - Cooper

things i don't want to forget

I thought since Cooper will be 16 months next week I would do a quick 're-cap' of things to remember and what Cooper has been doing during '15 months'. At least I'll have them written down. Eventually I'll get them entered into the Baby Book. (my goal, a throughly filled out baby book).

Milestones/Events:
1. He has been cutting four molars at once.. two top and two bottom. His is a trooper.. and it hasn't effected him all that much. The bottom two finally came in ALL of the way.

2. We took him to the HAIRY ELEPHANT for his first haircut. Cute place, he sat in a train. He like the train at first.. until the lady came and started messing with his hair. He wasn't too thrilled about that. He cried and screamed, and then finally he recoverd. And was back to his 'happy' little self. He looked so cute all 'tidy and cleaned up'.

3. He started walking and has quickly become a pro. Shoes are still a challenge, but its getting better, he is still a little wobbly with them on, but we are working on that. A major improvement from the first time we put them on.. he stared at his feet, refused to move and cried.. HA.. shoes soo tramatic!

Interests & Current Obsessions
1. CELL PHONES- Cooper always wants to hold our cell phones. We don't have fancy i-phones or anything, just 'old school' flip phones. But he doesn't care. It has buttons and it lights up. He particularly enjoys 'flipping' it open. Originally I didn't want him to touch our phones.. PERIOD.. but I caved.. and now he walks around with it. Oh well, he has that effect on you. He manages to somehow, accidentally turn on the camera and get a shot of his face or the floor or something. We have saved some cute ones. The funniest thing is he will hold the phone back behind his head and starts talking .. usually includes a lot of "Ehhh.. ehhh, ehh". Pretty funny!

2. MILK JUGS - one day Cooper found an empty milk jug by the back door, on the way to being put in the recycle bin. He scooped it up and carries it around. Acting like he is pouring it into cups.. or giving us a 'pretend drink'. Who needs toys when you have empty milk jugs.. HA.

3. BOWLS, CUPS, & SPATULA - Sit him down in the kitchen with a mixing bowl, and some toys to stir. A stack of plastic cups, and his milk jug, and he is good to go. Stirring "cooking" or making "soup" as we call it. He will even give us a 'bite' of his pretend soup occasionally. Future chef maybe?

4. DOORS - Doors, drawers, you name it.. he loves to open and close things.

5. KEYS - He really likes my cars keys in particular. He will pick the biggest key (my mazda key). Take it up to the door and attempt to put in door. He hasn't gotten into the key hole yet. But he sure works at trying to 'figure it out'. Funny to watch. He is very determined!

That's it for now. Sorry for the book. Fun stuff that I don't want to forget. And figured you might get a kick out of it.

Hairy Elephant

We finally decided it was time to take Cooper for his 1st haircut. I had been putting it off for some time. I just loved those little curls. Even though at times his hair looked like a sloppy mess. But a cute, sloppy mess. Finally we took him to the Hairy Elephant for his 1st haircut experience, and it was quite an experience.

The place is super cute. Instead of a regular barber chair, they are airplanes and cars. Each station has a small tv, where the kids can watch a movie of their choice. Cooper watched Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.. well sorta inbetween the crying and screaming.. HA!

Wow, look at those curls.. he was starting to look like a girl.

"This place isn't so bad."

"Oh, heck no.. get me out of here."

"Ok, good.. that lady with the scissors left."

"Oh crap, she is back."

Its all over with. He looks very handsome all cleaned up.

Here are some BEFORE pics.. early in the morning....

And some pics of him playing, once we got home from the hair cut.

Playing with the cell phone.
